Anilao Batangas - Philippines Diving

Anilao Batangas is the closest and best diving spot to Manila, approximately a 2-hour drive.  There are so many resorts now in Anilao and the ones which Ive stayed in are Balai (very warm, cozy, relaxed atmosphere, native & ethnic in design), Eagle Point (hotel-type resort with 3 pools; more for families), El Pinoy, Aquaventure (for the hard-core dive groups), to name a few.  Anilao is an ideal playground for the macro photographers because it boasts of many tiny organisms that they would love to shoot. 

Anilao Batanags is also popular for its dive sites such as Cathedral (w/the underwater cross & castle) and Mainit (sharks & pawikan turtles).  Anilao has a wide array of parrotfishes, clownfishes, triggerfishes, lionfish, moray eels, barracudas, a few batfish, frogfish, stonefish, etc..
