Palawan
- Philippines Diving

Scuba Diving in Palawan is good all year round with lots of pelagic and excellent walls and drift diving. There are beautiful world class beaches, limestone cliffs and clear waters. On the northwestern coast of Palawan Island is El Nido, the place I visited, which has 4 islands and islets surrounded by crystal blue waters and approximately 20 dive sites..
The waters of El Nido is also the home to dugong, dolphins, turtles and an amazing array of colourful reef fish.
Aside from beautiful El Nido, a famous site that tourists frequent in Palawan is the Tubbataha reef. The Tubbataha reefs are several small islands out in the Sulu sea that can only be reached by liveaboard vessels but which offer excellent wall dives, sharks, mantas and lots of fish. Puerto Princesa, the capital of Palawan, is a good place to arrange live-aboard trips to Tubbataha Reef.
Coron, in Palawan, also has the world renowned dive sites which are located at the narrow passages of Sangat, Gutob and Black Islands. The main attractions of Coron are the 26 sunken Japanese naval vessels.
